CLINIC TWO: HOUNDS & HUNT COUNTRY (OWENTON, KY)

Saturday, September 6, 2025

Experience some of the gorgeous country that makes hunting with Camargo so wonderful and unique! If you are curious about hunting and would like to learn more, have a green horse who needs experience, or simply desire a beautiful ride in a new place with new friends, this is the event for you. Riders and horses with no prior foxchasing experience are welcome. Instruction is provided by staff and experienced members of Camargo Hunt.

All riders will get a comprehensive introduction to hunting including group riding etiquette, secure position and safety, and tips to enjoy your view of the sport! As you traverse the beautiful rolling country, you will have the opportunity to practice crossing a variety of obstacles including creeks, hills, and opening gates from horseback. Riders will experience things that make the hunt go smoothly for all, such as standing at checks, “‘ware staff,” walking reverse, and more. The ride will last about two hours, and there will not be any hounds present during the riding portion.
