2026 Puppy Calcutta

— August 15, 2026 —

This fun and social event gives us the chance to meet this coming season’s new entry—the puppies who will hunt for the first time this September!
Join a team and compete for the chance to sponsor your favorite puppy. Throughout the season we score the puppies as they learn the sport, and at the end, the people who supported the winning puppy get bragging rights and a custom enamel pin with the pup’s face and name.

Summer trail rides

— MAY – AUGUST 2026 —

Join us in Indian Hill or in Owen County (or Ohio State Parks) for a casual and fun trail ride, with a tailgate picnic to follow.  Bring your favorite dish to share!  This is a great opportunity to practice riding in open country and with a group of horses.

At the April 2023 Game Dinner, an elegant table of venison, duck, salmon, steak tartar, quail with burnt apple bourbon purée, anchovy eggs, cheeses, breads, and, duck fat veggies and potatoes.

The Hound Retirement Fund is an independent, not-for-profit organization that seeks to gather and use resources for charitable, scientific, and educational purposes including, but not limited to, the care of retired sporting hounds, provision of emergency care for hounds, support of dog-related human organizations, and support of veterinary research project for sporting canines.
