I’m thrilled to share an update from our unforgettable trip to the 111th Bryn Mawr Hound Show, where our small but mighty pack of hounds represented Camargo Hunt with distinction! For those of you who don’t follow us on Facebook, here’s the full scoop on our incredible weekend and some exciting news about new additions to our kennels.
Our journey began at the stunning Radnor complex and barn, where we settled our hounds into their kennels before heading to the Desmond Hotel to prepare for the hound show dinner. The evening was a highlight, with a fantastic party where our dear friend Marion Thorne, MFH of Genesee Valley, was honored with a well-deserved lifetime achievement award.
On Saturday morning, we hit the Crossbred Ring, and our hounds delivered outstanding results:
- Unentered Single Dog: Rambo secured 4th place in a massive class of over 30 hounds!
- Unentered Couple of Dogs: Rambo and Ragnar earned an impressive 3nd place!
- Stallion Hound: Aspen 2nd place stallion hound! Beaten by the Champion Dog.
- Stallion Hound with 2 of Get: A class we coveted dearly—Aspen, with Rambo and Ragnar, clinched the trophy!
- Brood Bitch with 2 Produce: Rainbow, with Ragnar and Rawlings, took home the blue ribbon and the silver—a tremendous win and a proud nod to our new breeding program at Camargo!
While in Pennsylvania, my husband Eddie, our whippers-in Lauren Gash and Molly Moran, and I had the privilege of being invited to tour the renowned Mr. Stewart’s Cheshire Foxhound Kennels. We walked out with their hounds alongside my great friend and former mentee, their Huntsman. In an incredible gesture, she kindly drafted us 2.5 couple of superstar hounds to join Camargo Hunt. Please join me in welcoming:
- Cheshire Maverick ’17
- Cheshire Neala ’18
- Cheshire Mattis ’18
- Cheshire Intern ’19
- Cheshire Item ’23
Look for these exceptional hounds in action this September!
A heartfelt thank you to Eddie, Lauren Gash, and Molly Moran for their unwavering dedication, which made this trip a resounding success. Camargo Hunt is stronger than ever, and we’re already looking forward to our next adventure. Your support means the world to our team and our hounds!
Happy Hunting,
Katherine
